What is Christianity?

The heart of Christianity is this: God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son to die for you. We look around and even look inside ourselves and can think we’re ok. But God wants a perfect people, living his way. We all fall short of that – but that’s where the good news about Jesus changes everything. God has made a way for our mess and sin to be dealt with; for us to be perfect before God and live in perfect relationship with him. That way involved his son Jesus dying on the cross as the perfect substitute for you. When we come to believe that, everything changes. Our sin and the punishment we were due is placed on Jesus. His righteousness is given to us. We’re adopted into God’s family and called to live a life with God, sharing his love and good news with all of our lives, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
